“Collage Cocktail”

This class is for all skill levels and it’s fun! Bring a friend! To make the collage cocktail you will mix together textured papers that you bring to class in addition what you will make in class. Then you will stir in paint, print, photos, fibers, Citra-Solv papers that you will make in class, small three dimensional items, etc.. Voila! You have created a one of a kind collage that you can have framed. Glueing and adhering techniques, color combinations, and composition concepts will be demonstrated. You will leave class with one or two creative collages and maybe notecards. Most items will be supplied however it is suggested that you bring in some textured papers and any personal items you want to incorporate in your work.

Karen Ragus has been a primary and secondary art teacher over the years and conducts adult workshops at the Peninsula School of Art in Door County, Wisconsin and at her newly established Lake Mills Arts Center, Lake MIlls, Wisconsin. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a masters degree in adult vocational education. She also studies with numerous nationally known artist throughout the country. She has been presented with many awards for her work and exhibits her prints and paintings in a variety of art venues.

“Loosie Goosie” Painting Workshop

Loosen up in this exciting two day painting workshop. This workshop is for anyone who wants to begin painting or for those who want to break away from painting using itsy bitsy teeny weenie brushes and abide by strict rules and regs. Working with acrylic paints, you will learn to layer, lift pigments, print, texturize, splash, wash, glaze, scrape, spray, use things other than brushes to paint with and more. Learn magical color combinations, tried and true compositions, approaches to starting an abstract work and other fun painting techniques. There is no need for fancy or expensive supplies…a sensible supply list will given at the time of enrollment. This workshop is limited to six and fills quickly. Who knew that painting could be so much fun! There are no mistakes! Enjoy the energy! Expect to complete creative works for hanging.

“Hot! Hot! Hot!” Welding Class

Saturday, April 27, 2013  9:00 to 12:00 or 1:00 to 3:00,  $70.

Here is your chance to learn basic welding skills. You will design a garden sculpture using basic steal shapes such as rings, spheres, and rods. After planning the arrangement of the shapes, you will go to Bobʼs Welding Shop where you will get one on one instruction on welding your sculpture together. You will leave with a one of a kind piece of art!
How great is that? There is a materials fee of $20. payable the day of the workshop. This class is limited to four people in the morning session and four people in the afternoon session.   Sign up early!

Another great “Loosie Goosie” Painting Workshop

The “Loosie Goosie” Painting Workshop held on March 9th and 10th was just too much fun.  There were many nice paintings finished and signed and the artists learned several techniques to start an abstract painting.
